Things could be about to get bumpy.
Jurgen Klopp’s very first press conference as Liverpool manager was a very impressive affair as the German looked to get life at Anfield off to the right start.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss claimed he wants a Premier League title within four years, while he also told reporters and Liverpool fans that he is not a special one, but rather ‘the normal one.’
It seems that most Liverpool fans are fairly happy with his appointment as the club’s new head-man, and one of his predecessors has issued a warning of sorts to the club’s fans of what to expect under the ex-Mainz manager.
Kenny Dalglish made way for Brendan Rodgers after his second spell at the club ended in his sacking, and speaking after this afternoons unveiling, the Scot admits he’s expecting fireworks from the Reds’ new coach
“I just heard Klopp’s press conference and he sounds very, very impressive. I think the supporters will need to fasten their seat belts – I’m sure they will really enjoy him.”
“He seems to be somebody who’s not in love with himself, which the Liverpool supporters can relate to. I’m sure they will take him to their hearts. He’s described himself as ‘the normal one’ and that will do them fine because they regard themselves as being pretty normal.
“I don’t know him – I’ve only seen snippets on TV or radio but he came across very, very well this morning and I think that augurs well for everybody.”
With Kenny on his side, Jurgen already had made a important friend in the club, but also in the media.
