“If everyone thinks that’s it, done and dusted, then I cannot help them.”

Jurgen Klopp insisted that regardless of the result between Liverpool and Manchester City on Sunday, it will not decide the Premier League title race.

Liverpool currently sit one point behind the champions in second place, a win at the Etihad Stadium would send the Reds top of the table ahead of Pep Guardiola’s side.

Jurgen Klopp plays down the title decider.

Klopp stated he cannot make supporters’ minds up for them around the implications of Sunday’s result. He used the points following a Liverpool win against Man City as an example to suggest the title race is far from over.

The German highlighted the Man City camp will have the same mentality regardless of Sunday’s result, the 54-year-old doesn’t want to get carried away by any result.

“I cannot decide what people think but we can just go through the possible results,” Klopp told reporters.

“If we win we are two points up and if everyone thinks that’s it, done and dusted, then I cannot help them.

“If we lose we are four points behind and if anybody thinks that’s it then I cannot change it but I know nobody from Man City will think of it like that, and a draw we’re one point behind.

Klopp hails Pep Guardiola as ‘the best coach in the world.’

Klopp described Guardiola as “the best coach in the world” due to his achievements at Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and now Man City. The Spaniard has won three Premier League titles since taking over at the Etihad in 2017.

The Liverpool boss plauded the City boss’ ability to be successful whilst playing his attacking style of football.

“Pep (Guardiola) is the best coach in the world. I think we all would agree on that,” Klopp added

“It might be a coincidence that it hasn’t worked out in the Champions League so far but the things he won, the football he plays if anybody doubts him then I have no idea how that could happen.”
