The sound of a million sports editors sighing.
Mario Balotelli may have been rubbish on the pitch in his second spell in the Premier League with Liverpool, but he was very engaging off it.
From his dirty dogs fouling up the club’s training ground, to his dalliances with various women on social media, life was never dull when the Italian was around.
So it’s disappointing to hear that the former Manchester City man will not be coming back to Liverpool from his loan spell at AC Milan later this month.
It was suggested with fan anger towards Christian Benteke hitting peak troll, that Klopp may turn to a man who is the human equivalent of a polyester fire blanket in a fireworks factory to take some of the ire off the big Belgian and help Liverpool at least score some goals.
But speaking this afternoon ahead of the Capital One Cup semi final with Stoke on Tuesday night, the German shot down any chance of Balotelli returning to Melwood with a curt response to a question about the former Inter Milan striker,
Klopp on Balotelli: "At this time I don't have time to think about next summer. I am just thinking about what we can change in this moment."
