The under-fire Liverpool boss looks like he could have a stay of execution at Anfield after Jurgen Klopp ruled himself out of football management for six months.

The outgoing Borussia Dortmund manager was enlisted as favourite to replace Brendan Rodgers on the Liverpool hotseat but, with the matter of the Northern Irish man still being there, there’s now another problem – Jurgen Klopp isn’t interested.

Not for six months at least.

In an interview with German outlet, Bild, Klopp confirmed he would be taking a sabbatical away from football for at least six months.

We thought maybe he just wasn’t bothered with a role at Anfield but, with jobs looking to come up at the like of Real Madrid and even West Ham and Newcastle, it’s a good time to be a free agent in the manager market.

But Klopp wants a break so, unless Liverpool can prize Rafa Benitez away from the clutches of Real Madrid, they’ll probably persist with Brodge for another while.
