The first signing of Ratcliffe’s reign.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Joshua Zirkzee‘s transfer to Manchester United is a done deal.

Reports suggest that they will not trigger the release clause but will pay upwards of €40m with better payment terms, in three years.

The Dutch forward, 23, will undergo a medical in the coming days and is expected to sign a contract until 2029 with an option to extend for another season.

It marks the first signing of the INEOS era.

The former Bayern Munich star impressed in Italy last season and became a key transfer target for the Reds.

Zirkzee scored 12 goals and registered seven assists in 37 appearances for Bologna as they secured qualification to the Champions League.

The 23-year-old made his international debut against Turkey in the quarter-final of Euro 2024 and came off the bench on Wednesday night against England.

It is hoped he will complement 21-year-old Rasmus Hojlund, who arrived from Atalanta last summer.

Zirkzee was spotted embracing Kobbie Mainoo, who could soon be his new teammate, after the semi-final between the Netherlands and England.
