Pic: Jose Mourinho’s son supports his dad’s least favourite team

"I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed"

Robert Redmond

Jose Mourinho Jr. is clearly a headstrong 16 year old.

Jose Jr. is a youth team goalkeeper with Fulham, and the son of the Chelsea manager is a big fan Barcelona fan, and, unsurprisingly, a huge Lionel Messi fan.

The fact that a 16 year old is a Barcelona supporter shouldn’t surprise anyone, as the club have been the most dominant in Europe over the past decade.

The Catalan club have won four Champions League titles in ten years, deploying a revolutionary style of play, and have the world’s best player on their books.

Jose Jr. was also born in the city, when his father was Louis van Gaal’s assistant at the Nou Camp.

However, considering the bitter wars Mourinho engaged in with Barca, during his time as Chelsea and Real Madrid manager, we’re going to assume Jose Jr. is free to spent his pocket money as he wishes.

Jose’s beef with the club goes back years. Mourinho has accused Barcelona players of play-acting, influencing referees and even went as far as to say that they recieve preferential treatment because that had a charity’s logo on their jerseys.

“Why do the opponents of Barcelona always have a man sent off? Where does this power come from? Maybe it is to give more publicity to UNICEF.”

There was also this, when Mourinho’s Inter Milan progressed to the Champions League final in 2010 at Barca’s expense, prompting Jose to charge around the Nou Camp pitch celebrating.

This was probably the happiest moment of Jose’s life, second only to the birth of his first son.
