Death, taxes, Mourinho getting sent off

Jose Mourinho was sent off once again during Roma’s 2-2 draw with Hellas Verona on Saturday night.

Roma fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at the Stadio Olimpico. Youngsters Cristian Volpato and Edoardo Bove got on the scoresheet to share the spoils.

Jose Mourinho – sent to the stands.

The Giallorossi’s comeback was marred by their manager’s antics as Mourinho once again ended a game banished to the stands.

The former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur manager was left angered by the away side’s time-wasting tactics, leading to the 59-year-old receiving his marching orders.

This isn’t the first time Mourinho has been sent off. The Portuguese international received a number of dismissals throughout the season, as well as making headlines for the wrong reasons. He was sent off against Napoli, by receiving two yellow cards for dissent.

Earlier this week, he and Roma became part of an investigation after it emerged that the club had appointed ex-referee Gianpaolo Calvarese as an external consultant to help Calvarese to deal with officiating and VAR protocol in the league.

Mourinho has been nothing short of his traditional self since returning to Italy at the start of the season. The experienced manager hasn’t also been afraid to call out his own players.  All whilst holding showdown talks with the club’s owners after Roma made their worst start to a league campaign for 43 years.

The Roma boss took to Instagram.

Mourinho will now face a touchline ban following the draw on Saturday. After the match, the Roma Manager put out on Instagram: “I love these people and for them I fight.”

“I don’t talk is better to go home and have a nice dinner. Have a good Sunday.”

Their draw on Saturday night leaves the Giallorossi 7th in the league and a point behind their closest rivals, Lazio.
