The pressure is increasing on Louis van Gaal after Manchester United suffered a third successive defeat.
And unfortunately for him, there just so happens to be a popular, successful and charismatic alternative on the market.
Jose Mourinho is thought to have already opened talks with the 2012/13 champions, less than a week after leaving his post at Chelsea by mutual consent.
The Sun report that, following the initial feelers reported last week, United representatives have spoken to those close to Mourinho about a possible move.
According to the paper, you know the talks are serious because Mourinho missed former charge Frank Lampard’s wedding in order to begin discussions with United.
It is thought that the Portuguese was sounded out ahead of the defeat to Norwich which saw Van Gaal’s team drop out of the Premier League’s top four.
During that loss, United fans on Twitter – and even at Old Trafford – made their support for Mourinho known.
