Loves a bit of deflection, does Jose.
Chelsea are five points off the pace after only two matches in the new season and Jose Mourinho has been looking pissed off for about a month now.
The league champions were fortunate not to lose their opener, against Swansea, and got thumped by Manchester City, despite Mourinho labelling it as ‘a fake result’.
The Portuguese got a touch more real, on Friday, as he accepted many of his star players – John Terry, Gary Cahill, Branislav Ivanovic, Cesar Azpilicueta, Cesc Fabregas, Nemanja Matic and Eden Hazard – had not performed well.
He did not completely heap all the blame on his playing staff – noting that he would have to improve his own coaching.
Mourinho declared, ‘I’m not happy with Ivanovic’s form, Cahill’s, John’s, Azpi’s, Fabregas’, Matic’s, Eden’s.’
He added, ”But, for me, the first thing is I’m not happy with my form.
‘I go to the gym every day now to get fitter. I was going twice a week, but with no discipline. Maybe I need more action on the touchline, so I need to be fitter.
‘What we are doing this week is being more active in training, watching more videos, working harder.’
The man formerly known as ‘The Happy One’ was asked if any of his squad had played well in their first two games. ‘No,’ he replied, ‘not one.
‘We have one point from two matches. I’m not happy at all. I’m not happy with anyone.’
