Jose Mourinho may bring a Chelsea legend with him to Old Trafford if he takes over as manager

Kevin McGillicuddy

Bloody hell this would cause a few ripples.

Jose Mourinho is probably one of the few men in word football who could easily get an ‘I heart John Terry’ tattoo and not feel embarrassed.

The former England captain was a mainstay for most of Mourinho’s time at the Blues and the two enjoyed that special skipper—manager bond you don’t see anymore.

However it seems that Terry’s life long love affair with Stamford Bridge will be drawing to a close this summer, as his contract is not being renewed by the current Premier League champions.

He has been linked with a lucrative move abroad, but former Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins feels that if Jose Mourinho does take the Manchester United job, John Terry could be his first major signing.

The defender has enjoyed a mixed season, and it would be hard to see how Ed Woodward would justify his signature at his age and his very high wages.

Terry told Chelsea fans that he could not move to another Premier League club, but Wilkins feels that a switch to Old Trafford may be possible, and that only Jose Mourinho could pull it off

“That would be a cheeky one from Jose but I wouldn’t put it past him. He will have that in his locker. “Whether John would actually go to another Premier League club is another matter. He has stated that he wouldn’t, so that will be interesting.”
