Jose Mourinho has an added financial incentive to become the next Manchester United manager

Kevin McGillicuddy

Jose Mourinho is determined to get one up on Pep Guardiola.

If the two men clash in next season’s Premier League, it will be absolutely box-office considering the bad blood between both men from their time in La Liga.

Guardiola, of course, will be shacking up at the Etihad from mid-summer when he takes over at Manchester City.

There is no guarantee around Louis van Gaal’s long-term future at Old Trafford either, with Jose Mourinho the most likely figure to take over the club if the Dutchman is sacked.

Jose-Mourinho-Spurs

Mourinho is not by any means a poor man – well apart from in spirit maybe at times- but if he takes over in the red half of Manchester, he is set to become very wealthy.

The Sun are reporting that the Portuguese has an offer of a £20million per-year-contract on the table. and that a three-year deal, keep up with the maths kids, will net him over £60million, depending on how successful he would be and how many trophies he would capture.

Guardiola is currently on course to be the highest paid manager in the Premier league, with his net package at City set to earn him £15million per annum.

But Mourinho, who it is accepted despises the ex-Barcelona manager, would be sure to use his extra large pay packet to taunt his rival with if he did take over at Old Trafford.
