The best way Jose Mourinho buys time is by bemoaning the scraps he was left to pick up and work with.
There’s no logical reason why he’d want to let Anthony Martial walk away. The man is 22 years old and one of the best young footballers in the whole world. United should be shit scared of losing him but, instead, Mourinho is seemingly trying to force him out. Why? Why would he want that?
Maybe it’s just easier to show that he really did have so much rebuilding to do when he took over Manchester United. Maybe by shipping out the ‘dead wood’, he shows that he’s doing a better job than he actually is.
When Mourinho came to #MUFC:
– Had best GK in world
– Had best RB in league
– Bought 2 CBs
– Had Rojo, Shaw, Blind, Young, Darmian at LB
– Had Herrera
– Bought 2 CMs
– Had Mata and the 2 most exciting young players in Europe
– Bought Sanchez, Mkhi, Lukaku, IbraStill rebuilding

Well, anyway, despite slating Man City and Pep Guardiola for the money they spent on full backs last summer, the Manchester United boss is ready to spend a small fortune on Juventus left back Alex Sandro.
The 27-year-old Brazilian is set to join Old Trafford in the next transfer window for a whopping €50m, according to reports in Italy.
That would make Sandro the sixth most expensive defender of all time – Mendy and Walker both joined City for £50m. The sterling sign there is crucial.
But, in saying that, Mourinho could’ve gotten more than half of a Romelu Lukaku for that price.
It will leave United with Luke Shaw, Ashley Young, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo, Matteo Darmian and Alex Sandro as options for left back if they’re all there next August.
