Drink responsibly.
That’s all that we can hear sloshing around our heads this morning after we read how Jonjo Shelvey’s dad watched his son make his starting-England debut at the weekend.
The former Liverpool midfielder has been in great form for Swansea so far this season, and featured for England in their handy 6-0 win over San Marino on Saturday.
The Londoner’s father wasn’t at the game to see his son, instead deciding to watch the game down the local in Romford.
And although he wasn’t there, he still managed to celebrate in some style, according to the 23-year-old.
“He was with his mates, drinking and watching the game. He’s a coach and he criticised my long passing. He was still sober when I spoke to him but I think he can drink 26 pints and not feel it.”
Still sober. Well that’s good. We’re amazed he was even awake to be honest after that about of booze.
Once again all we can say if if you are going to the pub, please drink responsibly.
