After all that, it looks like Jonathan Walters is staying put.
Earlier in the week, it appeared as though the Irish striker was set to leave Stoke City with Sky Sports reporting that he had handed in a transfer request.
Norwich City and West Bromwich Albion were thought to be the likely destinations, particularly the Canaries who had two bids rejected for Walters this window.
However, just before Transfer Deadline Day squeaked to halt, the Irish man broke the news that he would not be leaving Stoke City, with perhaps the best tweet of the window.
Helicopter away for the year 🚁 sorry LVG it's not happening 😳

We say “perhaps”, because some may argue that the accolade belongs to West Brom’s Saido Berahino, who was pretty upset about having a move to Tottenham Hotspur blocked by the club.
