Martin O’Neill’s Euro 2016 plans should be coming together nicely.
The Ireland boss will be looking to assess all the contenders looking to stake a claim over the next six months to make it on the plane to France.
Ireland’s attacking options could be the key to our success next summer against Belgium, Sweden and Italy, but Shane Long isn’t the only forward in good form at the moment.
Adam Rooney missed out on the reduced squad for the play-off against Bosnia in November, but the Aberdeen man scored in the 2-2 draw for the Dons against Inverness on Saturday which means he’s now on 14 goals for the campaign.

Along with Celtic’s Leigh Griffiths, Rooney is now the joint top scorer in Scotland and even though we all know that the Scottish league is not the top, top league in the world, surely Martin O’Neill will cap the Dubliner in the Spring friendlies.
