Jesse Lingard proves himself to be one of the good guys with final day gesture to fans

Good on you, Jesse

Paul Moore

Cheers.

Manchester United fans had plenty to raise a glass to in their final Premier League game of the season as Jose Mourinho named the youngest United line-up in Premier League history, with an average age of 22 years and 284 days.

While this season has been far from a vintage one for supporters at Old Trafford, the United faithful must have been encouraged by the small glimpse that they got into the future against Palace as Josh Harrop scored on his debut while Angel Gomes became the first player born in the 21st century to appear in the Premier League.

Granted, the immediate attention of all United supporters will now turn to their Europa League final against Ajax, but it’s encouraging to see some of their academy graduates making the Premier League grade.

One man who knows what’s required to excel at Old Trafford is Jesse Lingard and after featuring in United’s final game of the season, the England international decided to treat some of their fans to a free round of drinks as a way of saying thank you for their continued support throughout the season.

After the match, Lingard made his way across Old Trafford to Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs’ Hotel Football, which is located next to the stadium, and proceeded to buy everyone a round of drinks.

Regardless of how much money any Premier League footballer is earning at their club, it’s still very encouraging to see players acknowledging their supporters with gestures like this one.

Well done, Jesse.
