Save of the season?
Don’t be silly, it’s not even started yet.
Make no mistake about it, this is a stop good enough to help win any match… even a meaningless pre-season friendly on the other side of the globe.
Atletico Madrid saw off Tottenham in their International Champions Cup match in Melbourne, defeating Mauricio Pochettino’s men by a solitary Diego Godin goal in the first half.
The loss was the second in the space of several days for Spurs, who also went down to Italian champions Juventus earlier in the week.
But things might have been different in their outing against the beaten European finalists had it not been for the man in the Atletico goal.
Jan Oblak pulled off a string of saves to keep Spurs out, but his second half stop to deny Ryan Mason was almost certainly the pick of the bunch.
The shot isn’t exactly hurtling into his top corner, but as the camera angle from behind the Spurs goal shows, the Slovenian’s speed of reaction can’t be knocked as he nudges the ball over the crossbar with his left hand.

Atletico don’t kick off their La Liga campaign until August 21, when they host Alaves in the opening weekend of the Spanish season. As for Spurs, they start their league season with a trip to face Everton at Goodison Park on August 13.
