As Abraham Lincoln said, don’t believe everything you read on the internet.
And if something sounds too good or too sensational to be true, then more than likely it actually isn’t true. However, that didn’t stop some people falling for this fabricated extract attributed to Jamie Vardy’s recently released autobiography.
Twitter user George Weah’s Cousin, who recently duped Sky Sports News with some erroneous facts about Lincoln Red Imps, the Gilbraltan side who defeated Celtic in a Champions League qualifier last month, made up a story about Jamie Vardy being responsible for killing a dog.
The quote attributed to Vardy, and made into a meme, is of course completely false.

But that didn’t stop stop some people falling for the tall tale, and it coming to the attention of Rebekah Vardy, the Leicester striker’s wife.
Essentially he should be in prison. https://t.co/US3OM3Yyy2

I don't even know who that Jamie vardy is but man… Maybe not confess to killing a dog in your autobiography.

Vardy responded by completely dismissing the story, and asked how people could fall for a such a story.

The person who played the prank found the whole thing funny.
