Jamie Vardy has pinpointed the exact moment he knew the team would be challenging for the Premier League.
The Leicester striker picked up his medal at the weekend, and the 29-year-old is set for a summer on duty with England.
The club, so far at least, has only lost three games in the Premier League, two to Arsenal, and once to Liverpool.
And after one of those losses, to the Gunners in February, the players were allowed a mid-term break as they had no match for two weeks.
Claudio Ranieri was hoping they would recharge their batteries, but seeing a fellow Premier League team suffer in the sands is what cheered Jamie Vardy up most.
The striker told The Guardian that the break was exactly what the Foxes needed, but seeing fellow pros sweating it out in the sun, was also very enjoyable.
“I went to Dubai and I remember sitting on a sun lounger and in the same hotel Sunderland were there, running up and down the beach doing fitness. For me to be relaxing while they’re doing the training was quite nice. It worked out perfectly; no one was going to go on a seven-day bender. It was a case of being there to relax with family and that’s all we did until we got back to training.”
Vardy also hinted at rivalry with Harry Kane this afternoon, when he was asked about his mischievous tweet after Leicester claimed the league a week ago.
Vardy tweeted a still from the Lion King, which by many was seen as a response to Kane’s tweet of lions on the prowl.

Vardy tried to play the tension down, and admitted that he is professional when on England duty, but when he returns to his club, it’s back to business.
“That’s just my favourite kids’ film!”
“We’re away with England to do a job for England and that’s all we focus on while we’re there. After that when you go back to your own clubs, I’m sure a few of us can put a few pictures out and let the media join the dots up themselves.”
