Looks like we’re going to get the book before the film.
Hardcore Jamie Vardy fans will now be able to tut outside the cinema, complaining that the planned biopic was not faithful to the autobiography.
His Premier League-winning hangover not even worn off, the Leicester City striker was promoting his upcoming autobiography on Tuesday.
The imaginatively-named ‘Jamie Vardy: My Story” will be released in October, in time for the lucrative Christmas period – when sports lovers get bombarded with autobiographies by friends and family who do not want to put too much thought into a present.

In fairness, unlike Wayne Rooney or Rio Ferdinand (to highlight a couple of footballers who have released multiple autobiographies) Vardy does have a story to tell.
From being rejected by his hometown Sheffield Wednesday, to playing non-league and working a day job making medical stents, to signing for Leicester and making his England debut at the age of 29, it will be eventful if nothing else.
Then there is the whole winning the Premier League with a 5,000/1 shot and breaking the league record for scoring in successive games.
And that’s before we even get to his conviction for assault, the racist abuse of an Asian gambler in a casino and the mystery of that tweet.
