Everyone loved Jamie Carragher’s Peaky Blinders remark on Friday Night Football

We were all thinking it

He had to.

Jamie Carragher wasn’t just going to let James Collins saunter up to Friday Night Football with his flat cap and matching overcoat without mentioning it.

That would have been something of an impossible task.

Carragher proved yet again why he’s the reason that so many viewers tune in to Sky Sports’ coverage of Premier League matches with a cracker of a comment on Collins’ get-up ahead of West Ham vs. Brighton.

“You look like you’re a fan of Peaky Blinders!” Carragher said, much to absolutely everybody’s amusement.

When Carragher wasn’t dropping comedy gems, he was speaking passionately about the Ronald Koeman situation at Everton.

The Sky Sports pundit threw his backing behind the under-fire Toffees boss by suggesting that the club’s troubles were not down to Koeman exclusively.

Instead, the Liverpool legend claimed that it was the lack of an out-and-out goalscorer which was most contributing to Everton’s struggles so far this season.

“They’ve had a poor start. They’ve had a lot of players who have come in who are still trying to gel,” Carragher said.

“But even if you change Ronald Koeman, the biggest problem at Everton will still be there and that’s no centre-forward.

“So whoever you bring in as a manager, they’ll have that problem of scoring goals and that’s not going to go away unless they change it in January.”
