Jamie Carragher might not be appearing on Sky Sports for the remainder of the season but that didn’t mean that Fox Sports weren’t able to get his thoughts on the Champions League semi-final.
Carragher was predictably at Anfield for Tuesday’s first leg between Liverpool and Roma and he was asked to offer his opinion on what viewers could expect for the 90 minutes.
And it was clear that the former Reds defender hasn’t lost his ability to deliver a killer comeback as he responded to a suggestion that Liverpool would simply be content to make up the numbers in the final four.
That claim came from former USA international Alexi Lalas, who now works as an analyst for Fox.

“One of my colleagues back in LA, Alexi Lalas, said that Liverpool would simply be happy to be here in the semi-final, what do you make of that comment?” the pitchside reporter asked.
Then came the lightning fast comeback from the Anfield legend.
“He should be happy to be in the studio!”
Gary Neville can attest to the fact that Carragher seldom comes out second best when it comes out to wars of words with his fellow pundits.
And Lalas is his latest victim.
