After the weekend’s Premier League action, many fans were waiting for just one piece of analysis from the Monday Night Football team.
Jamie Carragher was joined in the studio by Cesc Fabregas (*not* Gary Neville), and the pair ran the rule over the late penalty which was Leicester City extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table, temporarily at least.
Referee Jon Moss came in for some criticism for awarding the spot-kick when Jeff Schlupp went to ground in the final minute of stoppage time, though that wasn’t the only decision people took issue with.
And Carragher argued Moss got that particular call “100 per cent right”, even winning round the sceptical Fabregas.
“My initial reaction to seeing this [was that] you’ve bottled it,” Carragher said.
“But having now seen this [new] angle, this referee is 100 per cent right to give a penalty.
“He can only give it from where he sees it. We’re seeing the angle from the TV and I called him a coward [but] how can he not give a penalty for that?”
