Liverpool will take on Real Madrid in the 2018 Champions League final.
Despite losing 4-2 to Roma in the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday night, the Reds booked their place in Kiev with a 7-6 aggregate score.
Liverpool’s progress was pretty much sealed thanks to first-half goals from Sadio Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum, giving them a 2-1 lead at the break. Roma’s goal came courtesy of a bizarre own goal from James Milner – Dejan Lovren’s attempted clearance ricocheting in off his face.
After full-time, Milner was able to see the funny side of it. Having confirmed to BT Sport that he’d probably be celebrating reaching the Champions League final with a glass of Ribena, he sent a tweet from his recently set-up Twitter account which asked his quarter of a million-strong following for advice on getting a Champions League logo off his face.
As if it wasn’t already clear what he was referring to, he added a picture of the moment the ball hit him for Roma’s first goal.

Edin Dzeko added a third Roma goal in the second half, with a late brace from Radja Nainggolan completing the scoring.
Liverpool will look to win their sixth European Cup in the final on May 26, in doing so preventing Real Madrid from winning their third consecutive Champions League title.
