James McClean not happy with how Match of the Day highlighted his yellow card

Projectiles were thrown from the crowd

James McClean has a point here.

West Bromwich lost 1-0 to Huddersfield on Sunday in a game where James McClean came off the bench. The Republic of Ireland international very nearly grabbed a late equaliser, but his headed effort in added time was kept out by Jonas Lossl.

However, it wasn’t that chance that will be best remembered about McClean’s performance in that loss. His most memorable moment of the game was one he would probably like to forget.

A couple of minutes later he put in a crunching challenge on an offside Tom Ince which saw him shown the yellow card. The crowd didn’t like it and they let the Derry man know all about it. As well as showering him with boos, some fans even hurled abuse and projectiles in his direction.

Of course, the tackle was highlighted on Match of the Day. However, McClean has an issue with how they dealt with the incident.

He did not appreciate how the reaction of the crowd wasn’t highlighted. Apparently, their cameras failed to pick up the projectiles that were angrily thrown his way.
