Reputation often precedes players.
Footballers backed for huge things at a certain club so frequently flatter to deceive.
Jack Wilshere, amid his impending loan move to Bournemouth, is expected to have the quality to comfortably keep the Cherries in the Premier League this season.
The Arsenal midfielder was once referred to as “the future of English football” by Barcelona and Spain legend Xavi but has seen his first-team chances limited recently, with only 37 minutes of gametime under his belt this season.
He’s been unlucky with injuries but will be hoping to kick on for a team in which he’ll be under less pressure.
And while most Bournemouth supporters are delighted to get an England international in the centre of the park, plenty believe that he will be just the second best midfielder at Eddie Howe’s disposal.
The first?
None other than the Republic of Ireland’s Harry Arter.

Can't wait for Wilshere not to make the first XI ahead of Harry Arter and Andrew Surman

I wouldn't put Wilshere in our side over Cook, Arter and Ake #afcb
