The saga continues to rumble on.
The subject of whether or not Jack Wilshere will remain at Arsenal for the coming season has been discussed long and hard among fans, journalists and pundits alike since the end of the season.
The former wunderkind spent the 2016/17 season on loan at AFC Bournemouth, before working his way back into Arsene Wenger’s team at points throughout the most recent Premier League campaign.
However, with a new manager having arrived in the form of Unai Emery, talk of Wilshere staying at the Emirates has noticeably slowed down as the Spaniard understandably looks to bring in his own reinforcements.
Wilshere has been linked with numerous sides, the majority of whom are not on the level (or perceived level) of Arsenal, and his most recent post on social media suggests that an exit may well be impending.
Posting on Instagram stories, the 26-year-old’s message talks of choosing between “turning the page and closing the book”.
All very philosophical, I’m sure you’d agree, but it does seem to suggest that the book of his Arsenal career will be getting closed, or at the very least, not read, before the summer is out.
