Mount out, Grealish in

Jack Grealish is in line to start for England tonight, according to reports, replacing Mason Mount, who has been forced to self-isolate for ten days with Ben Chilwell.

The Chelsea duo were deemed close contacts to Scotland’s Billy Gilmour, who tested positive for Covid-19 after their 0-0 draw with England at Wembley.

The loss of Mount and Chilwell will come as a blow to Gareth Southgate, but with England already through to the last 16, this has presented the England boss with an opportunity to let England off the shackles and give Grealish a chance to impress from the first minute in one of the three midfield roles.

Manchester United’s Harry Maguire is also ‘likely’ to start on the left hand side of central defence in place of Tyrone Mings, having missed the first two group games due to an ankle injury.

The Telegraph are also reporting suggestions that Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, who is yet to feature at the tournament, could be given a start on the right wing, with Phil Foden dropping out of the starting XI.
