Jack Grealish is not even the oddest selection in Christian Benteke’s dream five-a-side team

Seriously

Kevin McGillicuddy

Here’s some official SportsJOE advice for Christian Benteke: you need to broaden your footballing horizons.

The massive Belgian striker made his return to action for Liverpool in Thursday night’s 1-1 draw with Rubin Kazan but he clearly hasn’t spent his time out looking at too much world football, judging by his dream five-a-side team.

Normally everyone of these is filled with Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and more of their ilk but the former Aston Villa man has plumped for three of his Belgian colleagues, one Brazilian and one Englishman who used to be an Irishman.

The striker has selected at least two men he knows very well from international duty, Eden Hazard and  Kevin De Bruyne, while somewhat oddly he figures that Divock Origi is the man to finish the chances created by those two fellow Belgians.

There’s no defenders selected in the team, or a goalkeeper, so maybe he thinks that Jack Grealish, his former colleague at Villa might be the man to keep tabs on the opposition attack and play fly ‘keeper.

Benteke also revealed that he hates heading to play Stoke as he rates the Brittania Stadium as the worst because the wind is so bad there.
