It seems Bastian Schweinsteiger was an even bigger bargain than everyone thought

At that price you'd take two

Small change in the lint of the pants pocket of Ed Woodwards’s finest suit.

The Manchester United board may be shipping some pretty heavy criticism for the failure to land Pedro but it appears that one of their key summer signings was an absolute steal.

Bastian Schweinsteiger has only played a handful of games already for Louis Van Gaal and co  but he looks already at home in the Premier League.

And now not seems that Bayern Munich left the German World Cup winner go for a bargain price

It was widely reported that the midfielder signed for around £15million during the summer. Not cheap but for a player of his quality hardly a world-record price even if he is 31 and has endured some tough injuries.

But according to German magazine Bild the actual price agreed both clubs was closer to (insert millionaire footballer here) wages for a year or £6 million or so.

If the player performs as well as he has so far this season that six million will seem possibly the best piece of business of the whole summer, Pedro or not.
