The managerial rumour mill is in full swing now
Manchester City’s hopes of landing their dream manager look to be more than just pie in the sky if weekend reports are to be believed.
The club look set to part ways with Manuel Pellegrini after a poor second half of the season saw them once again fail to reach the last eight of the Champions League.
Combined with the lack of a real challenge to Premier League champions Chelsea, and City’s Abu Dhabi owners have targeted Bayern Munich boss Guardiola as the man to take their project to the next stage.
The idea of the former Barcelona maestro leaving Munich, where he has masterminded yet another canter to the Bundesliga title, was initially viewed as a long shot, but after a string of recent defeats, including to the Lionel Messi-inspired Barca in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final last week, have, according to BeIn Sports, made Pep reconsider City’s advances.
The idea has been lent further credence by an appearance by former City midfielder Dietmar Hamann on Sky TV in Germany.

@Marcotti I can see it happening. They lost four in a row now and Barca coming to town Tuesday.

Well, it’s clearly not good enough for Spanish football expert and Guardiola biographer Guillem Balague, who took to Twitter to try and shut down the rumour mill.
Pure imagination and fiction this story that Guardiola has agreed to sign for City. Not true at all!!
