Crisis? What crisis?
Newcastle may be perilously close to the relegation zone, but they’re safe in the hands of John Carver, who is the best coach in the Premier League, at least according to himself.
Despite just winning two of his 17 games since taking charge and falling to an eighth defeat in a row after the abject 3-0 loss at Leicester, Carver has said he’s still better than any coach in the world’s richest league.
Speaking at his press conference ahead of this weekend’s crucial game against West Brom, Carver reiterated that he’s the best man to keep Newcastle up, despite being just two points clear of the drop.
“I still feel I am the best coach in the Premier League. That’s what I think.
“Now there’s nothing wrong with that, but I still do.”
Carver also denied he ever offered his resignation after the defeat to Leicester, where he accused defender Mike Williamson of deliberately getting sent off.
“”I never offered to resign, or walk away or step aside.”
