Irish team in Dubai explain how they signed a Real Madrid legend

The Dubai Irish FC football team must be bankrolled by someone pretty rich.

There is nothing worse than having a player get injured and you have no-one decent on the subs bench to come on.

But luckily for one Irish football side plying their trade in the Dubai, they found the perfect man to replace one of their injured defenders on the pitch next door to them.

Dubai Irish FC are the current local amateur Football League champions, and looked to be in trouble one night when ex-Finn Harps man James ‘Docs’ Doherty got injured.

Thankfully they had the ideal replacement on hand with ex-Real Madrid man Michel Salgado,

We chatted to Len Holbrook from the club this afternoon and he explained how they managed to persuade the former Spain international to meet up with the group.

The man himself also got in touch with the club to apologise for interrupting their training session.
