No, that’s not the opening line to a racist joke from the 1970s, but an actual scenario that occurred in Paris on Tuesday.
Last weekend, a small group of English fans clashed with police, local ultras and Russian hooligans. Those same Russian hooligans went on a rampage through Marseille on Saturday, moving in packs, attacking each group of English supporters they encountered, and even recorded their destruction on a GoPro camera.
Meanwhile, in Paris, these helpful Irish fans stopped to help an elderly French couple change a tyre.
Not only are they the best fans in the world, they also possess some practical skills.
The Republic of Ireland fans aren’t just in France to cheer on the Boys in Green. No, they’re also helping out the locals.
