Republic of Ireland underage international Jonathan Afolabi could be poised to join Celtic this month after he was spotted at Celtic Park on Saturday.
Afolabi was released by Southampton at the end of last season and now could be set for a move north to Glasgow with The Daily Record reporting that he has spurned offers from Spain and Russia to consider a move north.

Afolabi, 19, would join Ireland players Jonny Hayes and Luca Connell in the squad if he was to complete the move and manager Neil Lennon has said that he is continuing to work on bringing new players to the club despite failing to qualify for the Champions League this season after losing to CRF Cluj in the third round of qualifying..
“We are working diligently in the background to bring players in and increase the quality and competition and strength in depth of the squad,” said Lennon. “The board have been absolutely top class with me.
“People are looking for divisions and destabilising. It’s not there. We have to accept we lost the game, whether we deserved to lose it or not, we have to accept it and come back better.”
Celtic will now play a qualifier with AIK to see if they can qualify for this season’s Europa League.
