Republic of Ireland name provisional squad for Uefa Nations League games

Declan Rice hasn’t been included.

Martin O’Neill has named a provisional squad for the Republic of Ireland’s games this month.

Ireland will play Uefa Nations League games against Denmark and Wales in Dublin, two matches that will decide their fate in the new tournament.

Harry Arter has been brought back into the fold and there is a call-up for Richie Towell, the former Dundalk midfielder currently on-loan at Rotherham from Brighton.

James McClean has returned from injury to be named in the squad. There is no place for captain Seamus Coleman, who recovering from an injury he picked up on international duty in September.

Stephen Ward and Jon Walters miss out through injury.
