Ireland's match against Greece is the second game for both sides in the Uefa Nations League B2.
Ireland lost 2-0 to England last Saturday in Dublin. The scoreline doesn't convey how dominant the away team was, however.
If Caoimhin Kelleher had not been in goal and made several excellent saves, England may have won by four or five goals. To rub salt further into the wounds, Declan Rice and Jack Grealish scored the goals for Lee Carsley's team.
Greece, meanwhile, started their campaign with a 3-0 win over Finland last weekend.
The Greeks are also a familiar opponent for the Boys in Green. They beat Ireland home and away last year in the Euro 2024 qualification campaign, results that ultimately cost Stephen Kenny his job.
Heimir Hallgrimsson has replaced Kenny as Ireland's head coach and, in the Greek dugout, Ivan Jovanović has replaced Gus Poyet as manager.
The Nations League has grown in importance for teams since its inception in 2018.
The winners of each group will be guaranteed a play-off place for the 2026 World Cup, and many smaller teams, such as Georgia and North Macedonia, have used the Nations League play-off route to reach international tournaments.
There will also be a relegation promotion play involving the teams who finish third in League A, and second in League B. For the teams that finish third in League B, they will face the runners-up in League C.
The match will be broadcast live on RTÉ 2 in Ireland, with coverage starting at 7:20 pm ahead of kick-off at 7:45 pm.
You can also watch the game live on the RTÉ Player.
