It doesn’t take a lot to upset Mourinho.
The Special One had a famous falling out with his former number one at Real Madrid, Iker Casillas and the Daily Mail have written a story today which pinpoints the moment in which the relationship collapsed.
Casillas was apparently worried that the fiery rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona would sour things at international level with his friends Camp Nou.
Mourinho, who genuinely seemed to relish the bitter feud between the two clubs was not impressed when the shot-stopper tried to patch things up with some players at Barca.
Xavi recently told Marca about the moment Casillas picked up the phone: “Iker deserves a lot of credit. He called me and [Carles] Puyol. I told him that both sides had to look at themselves. He was looking out for the interests of Spanish football.”
Apparently, this was a complete act of betrayal in Mourinho’s eyes. which led to Casillas losing the trust of his manager which resulted in them falling out.
