A goal good enough to win any game… a damn shame then that it turned out to be nothing more than a consolation for the team that scored it.
That team was Las Palmas, who had made the trip to El Madrigal to face Villarreal in La Liga on Sunday afternoon. Just shy of the half hour mark, they opened the scoring in quite spectacular style.
Having stroked a few passes together outside the Villarreal area, the ball was eventually dinked towards the corner of the six yard box.
This is where it starts to become a bit special.
Running away from the goal, Tana volleys the ball back across the goal with his heel, where Kevin Prince-Boateng – of Portsmouth and AC Milan fame – acrobatically fires the ball into the corner of the net. Take a bow, fellas.
Jesus Christ Las Palmas. What manner of sorcery pic.twitter.com/q0TDcp7O6H

Villarreal went on to cancel out the lead with a Nicola Sansome penalty (if ever there’s an argument for double point goals, that’s it) before the home side won it through Cedric Bakambu two minutes into stoppage time.
Harsh, but genuinely one of the best goals we’ve seen this year.
