That’s some way to add insult to injury.
A group of thieves robbed amateur side Selsey Rovers of €3,600 worth of equipment and of its dignity. The gang stole four sets of goals, cones, barriers and corner flags from the Luton-based club.
After removing the uprights, the vandals spray painted a five-foot long penis onto the turf, which as club secretary Matthew Cuthbertson explained, “added further insult to injury”.
“They took some time on it—I just do not understand it at all,” he added.
The graffiti was swiftly cleaned up before a local school used the field as part of a sports day.
Is that what we think it is, spray painted on that pitch? Unfortunately, yes.http://t.co/Y4FLn9AJwy pic.twitter.com/1iPgyYtbbl
