Antonio Conte is not going to follow Claudio Ranieri’s management model of rewarding performances with pizza.
In fact, the new Chelsea manager has banned pizza entirely for his new players as he aims to improve the nutrition and fitness standards at Stamford Bridge.
Conte, who arrives after calling time on his position as Italy boss, has issued a set of strict dietary rules for the Blues squad and they involve the prohibition of pizza, according to the Times.
Also on the no-go list is ketchup and brown sauce as players have been told to use salt and pepper if they wish to spice up their meals.
But there’ll be no regular vinegar to go along with that salt as Conte has also banned traditional vinegar in favour of its balsamic brother.
Fizzy drinks are also off limits as the 47-year-old believes players end up bloated if they take to the pitch after consuming too much sugar.
We’ve already heard how Pep Guardiola had banned pizza after joining up with Manchester City but Conte’s rules seem much stricter as he has cereals and pasta on his hitlist, replacing them with salads and chicken as lunch options in Chelsea’s canteen.
