Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League game against Monaco was postponed on Tuesday night after there were explosions near the team’s bus.
Dortmund defender Marc Bartra was taken to hospital and treated for cuts to his arm, believed to be caused by fragments from the coach’s window following the explosion.
The Champions League tie was rescheduled for Wednesday evening, and thankfully Bartra’s injuries are not understood to be serious.
The City’s police are investigating the incident, and said that it is still unclear about whether it was a terrorist attack.
The unfortunate incident brought the best out of both sets of supporters. Monaco fans in attendance at the Westfalenstadion chanted ‘Dortmund’ when it was unclear how serious the situation was.
While Dortmund fans offered accommodation to Monaco supporters in a bid to help them stay in the city for an extra night.
Countless on social media also showed their support for the German club, including Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
