Can’t blame him.
Quick question, do you remember who Arsenal last faced in Europe after failing to qualify for the Champions League?
Well, the answer is PAOK FC and the Gunners crashed out of the 1997-98 UEFA Cup at the First Round stage.
Since then, Wenger’s side have qualified for every single Champions League but Arsenal supporters will be freeing up their Thursday evenings after the Gunners failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 20 years despite a 3-1 win over Everton on the final day of the Premier League.
On the field, Wenger’s side got the win they required but Liverpool’s victory over Middlesbrough ultimately meant that their efforts were in vain.
To compound matters, Laurent Koscielny’s red card will now mean that the French defedner has to miss the FA Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley.
The day started so well for the Gunners after Héctor Bellerín opened the scoring against Koeman’s side but things deteriorated quickly.
After the game, while driving home, Bellerín happened to cross paths with a football supporter who didn’t miss the opportunity to goad the Arsenal man about the fact that he won’t be playing Champions League football next season.
Take a look at what happened and even after this, the Spanish defender took to Twitter to add a little extra dig.
Somehow, we’re certain that Spurs fans everywhere don’t care about this reply.
