Heartwarming story from Anfield yesterday will put the result in context

It's not all about the result

Context, if any was needed, on yesterday’s game.

While many Liverpool fans are undoubtedly still disappointed after the 1-0 loss to Manchester United, and Louis van Gaal is plotting a title challenge, after his side’s second Premier League win since November, this puts the game between the pair into context.

A Liverpool fan, sitting on the Kop, posted this story about how a steward who suffered a heart attack during the game was resuscitated by the club’s doctor and St John’s Ambulance staff.

Christopher Rimmer’s post has clearly struck a chord with many on social media, and has over 6,000 shares. He wrote:

“You’d think that because I’m a season ticket holder and I’ve just witnessed a very undeserved loss I’d be upset… But I’m not. I’m very happy and I’d like to tell you why. One of the LFC stewards (at the front of block 202, Kop) had a heart attack during the first half and thanks to the St Johns Ambulance staff performing tireless CPR for 8-10 minutes and the LFC club doctor providing help and advise. They managed to resuscitate him, hook him up to oxygen and saved his life. 1-0? Who’s arsed really…? Context.”
