Heartbreak for Luke Shaw as Manchester United left back suffers double leg fracture

Get well soon

Just devastating.

Luke Shaw had been enjoying some of the best football of his career as he was impressing as one of United’s best players this season but it looks like he will do well to kick any more ball for the rest of the campaign.

The England left back suffered a horrendous leg break against PSV on Tuesday night and, after he was taken to hospital in Eindhoven, Manchester United confirmed that the defender had been diagnosed with a double leg fracture.

Shaw will fly back to Manchester on Wednesday where he will have surgery on the right leg before the long road to recovery can begin.

He has been defiant, however. Even before the diagnosis, the player sent out a couple of classy tweets, both resilient and graceful.

But the news that the leg has been broken in two places will come as a huge blow, not just personally and on a human level, but for the team as well who were depending on the player so much.

Manchester Untied confirmed that Shaw will have an operation when he gets back from the Netherlands.
