Harry Redknapp reckons Liverpool will miss out on the top four this season

If you say so, Harry...

Liverpool bagged another four goals as they saw off Stoke City on Tuesday evening.

The fourth, scored by Daniel Sturridge, saw Jurgen Klopp’s side reach 100 goals in just 48 games under the manager – equalling a record set by Kenny Dalglish’s Liverpool three decades ago.

The victory saw them return to second place in the Premier League, six points behind Chelsea, who will head into the new year at the top.

Their free-scoring attacking football has seen many back Liverpool to end their wait for a league title this season, but one man who doesn’t seem to support this is Harry Redknapp.

Liverpool v Stoke City - Premier League

Speaking on talkSPORT, the former Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United boss not only backed Chelsea to win back the title they surrendered to Leicester last season, he also predicted that Liverpool won’t even make the Champions League places.

“Who’s going to be out of that top four? I think Arsenal will be in the top four. I think Tottenham will be in the four.

“Who’s going to drop out? Chelsea will be in the four, Man City are going to be in the four. I think Liverpool (will drop out).

“As much as I love Liverpool and they’ve been excellent, the boy (Sadio) Mane goes away to the African Cup and that will be a massive loss for them.”

We get the impression that Harry might well be reminded of these words if Liverpool go on to prove him wrong.
