Maguire could seal a late move away from Old Trafford.
Harry Maguire could be set for a late move away from Manchester United after Inter Milan reportedly made a bid for the central defender.
The centre-back has fallen behind in the pecking order at Old Trafford, losing his place in the starting XI to Lisandro Martínez.
Erik ten Hag seems to also prefer other options to partner Raphael Varane when the Argentinian is unable to play, even choosing Luke Shaw ahead of the England international.
Maguire has started one Premier League game in 2023 and The Daily Mail have received a loan bid from Inter Milan to bring the 29-year-old to the San Siro until the end of the season.
Inter are looking for defensive reinforcements as Paris Saint-Germain tries to bring in Milan Skriniar before the end of this month after signing him on a pre-contract agreement.
It’s believed that Maguire would prefer to stay until the end of the season before deciding on his future. United will also like to keep him until the end of the season.
After the Red Devils’ 3-1 win against Reading in the FA Cup – which Maguire started – he said: “I feel like I’ve looked after myself – I think it’s two-and-a-half weeks since my last start – so I’ve been working hard in training.
“The lads who’ve been playing have been doing well so when I get the opportunity I need to take it and make sure we win.
“I’m working hard every day, I’m pushing, I’m training well, and when my chance comes I need to take it.
“We know at this club we need competition for places, we have some top centre-backs at this club so I think we’re all good from now until the end of the season.”
