The cat appears to be out of the bag.

Aleksandr Golovin look set to leave CSKA Moscow in the coming days.

The 22-year-old starred for Russia in the World Cup, scoring a free-kick in the host’s opening game hammering of Saudi Arabia.

Since then, his name has repeatedly appeared in the gossip columns, with Juventus, Monaco and several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United all linked with his signature.

Now though, thanks to an Instagram post from his CSKA teammate Sergey Chepchugov, it seems Golovin is set to complete a switch to Chelsea.

As pointed out by Sky Sports, Chepchugov’s post congratulates the midfielder on finalising his move, wishing him well at Stamford Bridge. The post has been liked by Golovin’s official Instagram account – seemingly confirming that a move is imminent.

Newly appointed Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has already revealed that he wants to strengthen the club’s midfield ahead of the new season.

They have already added Jorginho to their ranks, a player Sarri knows well from his time as Napoli boss. The Brazilian-born Italian international had appeared set to join Manchester City, with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirming a deal to take him to The Etihad Stadium had been agreed.

Chelsea will take on City in the Community Shield on August 5, starting their Premier League campaign the following weekend away at Huddersfield Town.
