One bad back pass lead to a calamitous own goal in Ligue 2 at the weekend.
Brest beat Ligue 2 leaders Troyes 2-1 on Saturday, which is amazing considering they scored one of the most embarrassing own goals of the season during the match.
Leading 1-0, the Brest keeper John Hartock misjudged a suicide backpass from one of his defenders and saw the ball bounce over his head towards the open goal.
Despite his initial error, the shot-stopper still had plenty of time to recover and began chasing down the runaway ball. The 28-year-old managed to catch up with it, but then inexplicably booted the ball into his own net.
