Andrea Pirlo, he ain’t.
20-year-old Mexican midfielder Arturo González might never recover from this blunder.
Gonzáles was presented with a glorious opportunity to claim victory for Atlas against fierce rivals Guadalajara in the 95th minute.
Atlas were awarded an 11th hour penalty with the game tied at 1-1, and the youngster stepped up to take potential heavy pressure spot kick.
González looked like calmness personified as he strolled up to strike the kick and had the temerity to try to fool the keeper with a Panenka attempt.
However, he failed miserably to with his effort which was so weak that the goalkeeper was able to grab a hold of it before it crossed the line, despite having already started to move towards the other side of the goal.
